.: Gambling & Casino Poetry

The poetry listed on this page is original and is the work of the respective authors listed below. All the pieces have a gambling or casino related theme or use these themes in metaphors of life and love. I believe they capture the moods and settings of a gambling environment quite nicely.

"Casino Poem" by bluepoeticflame

You were heavy in your chair
One hand rubbed the green felt of the table
As if it were the breast on the sinewy body of yearning

I watched your tan lips envelop the soft bliss of your second to last cigarette
The light brown sugar of your skin was impervious to the piercing flashy lights
But blue and white shown from your somber eyes

Each delicious chip were like the pennies we would throw in shopping mall fountains
Wishes and dreams waiting to be scooped up

The waitress in the vexatious black dress faithfully brought you whiskey sours
Numbing and erasing all that continued to spiral
I wanted to grab your hands and smell the bills and smoke
Then force them on my waist

I would have led you through the ravenous creatures, the deceitful ringing
Lights that leave the eyes arid and the soul broke

Elegant carpeting, signs that lie
Couldn't have enveloped you and pulled you back to anguish

Through the revolving doors the ocean mist would have cleansed
The buildings were vibrant but they weren't bigger than us

We would have kept walking to the sand
Just ahead of where the ocean stops
You would lay with me
So I could rub sand up your arms

Consume the wetness of night
And the dryness of your torment

"Gambling" by i.want.to.get.away

Everyday you gamble your life away,

one wrong move, and you'll have to pay

it's the chance you will win that keep's pulling you back

gambling is the reason we live in this shack

oh come on, just one more roll of the dice,

oops you lost, now you'll have to pay the price

oh but wasn't that fun?

four day's later, you had your chance to run,

but you took that chance, now your in debt

you scream and go back, your sure you'll win this bet

oops you lost! now you dont have a car,

your so stressed out, you take a trip to the bar

you think about how much you have lost

all because of addiction, was it worth the cost?

one last trip, you lose everything

oh but wasn't that fun?

"Gambling" by JacquelynK

Please don’t stay, and
Please don’t go
Please don’t love me, and
Please don’t hurt me
Please don’t leave me alone, but
Please don’t stand so close

I can’t gamble you
Love isn’t on my side
I can’t lose you
God knows how I’ve cried

Please don’t send my flowers
That stay and remind me of you
Please don’t laugh at me
I can’t take that

I can’t make up my mind
You’re too much of a risk
You mean too much to me
There’s too much to lose
There’s too much to gain
And I can’t gamble you
Luck is never on my side

Anyone else, just anyone else
I would never worry so much
My head is screaming
“Don’t get too close”
My heart is crying
“Don’t let him get too far”
I can’t let you go
I can’t let you stay
So where does that leave us
How does that leave me
It leaves me all alone
Because I’ll never let you
Close enough to love me

"Gambling Nut" by Elwood Clyde Walken Jr.

I'm a gambling nut
Like to play the games
Been called a poker slut
But usually worse names
Don't win much cash
It's a habit I've got
Like hot-knifing hash
Or smoking pot
It's fun and relaxing
Except when I lose
It can get rather taxing
That's when I hit the booze
So I play the games, for the fun of it all
It costs a couple bucks
But what the fux

"Gambling Grandma" by Shecky Muhammad

When Grandma is not playing the numbers
She can be found down at the track
Betting on the dogs and the horses
And in between races taking a nap
She plays Lotto and power ball
And church bingo each and every week
I tell her she should stop gambling
But she is waiting for a winning streak
I tell her she is just being very foolish
Blowing all of her life savings on games of chance
She looks at me and laughs and says
I’m not blowing my life savings just your inheritance
